Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to neuro telemetry patients, including those with CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, and encephalopathy
• Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms, titrate drips such as Amio, Cardizem, and Heparin
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes while maintaining sterile field
• Collaborate with charge nurse and nursing aides to ensure safe patient ratios and timely care
• Administer medications, manage patient care in a fast-paced, high-turnover unit with average LOS of 4-5 days
• Participate in bedside report and float to other telemetry units as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in telemetry or neuro nursing
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and titration of cardiac drips
• Strong sterile field technique and competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to start (two attempts allowed)
• No facial piercings and natural hair color required for safety
• Clean shaven for fit test; own vehicle required

Knowledge & Skills

• EKG interpretation and rhythm recognition
• Titration of Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin drips
• Cerner EMR proficiency
• Sterile field technique and central line management
• Port-a-cath insertion and care
• Neuro experience highly preferred
• Level 1 trauma care and rapid assessment
