Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the dental hygienist during patient procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a safe environment
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and update electronic health records
- Expose and process dental X-rays under the direction of the hygienist
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Manage inventory and stock supplies to support daily operations
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or license in Maryland (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Detail-oriented with a focus on patient safety and comfort
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental procedures and sterilization techniques
- Proficiency with dental software for charting and scheduling
- Excellent patient care and chairside manner
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks during busy periods
