Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to maintain oral health
- Assess patients' oral health conditions and document findings
- Provide patient education on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care
- Take and process dental X-rays as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures and exams
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Current CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in dental cleaning techniques and scaling
- Knowledge of dental software and digital radiography
- Understanding of infection control protocols
- Excellent patient care and education skills
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity
