Registered Nurse - PACU
Location: Lakewood, Colorado
Start Date: 07-13-2026
End Date: 10-12-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable start times, primarily 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, with on-call one night every six weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery
- Monitor vital signs and manage pain levels with precision and compassion
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams to ensure smooth recoveries
- Care for a diverse caseload including ortho, trauma, cardiac, urology, pulmonary, and GI cases
- Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate when needed
- Document thoroughly in Epic EMR to maintain continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of ED or ICU experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in Epic EMR for charting and order management
- Understanding of nurse-to-patient ratios (1:2) and safe staffing practices
- Ability to read telemetry strips and manage ICU-level patients in PACU
- Experience with common PACU equipment and respiratory support
