Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding) with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition promptly to the nurse in charge
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics to protect both you and the resident
• Document care provided accurately and timely in the resident chart or electronic records
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and coworkers
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, offering comfort and clear communication

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid for Pennsylvania (or eligible to obtain prior to start)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and facility onboarding requirements
• Comfortable with direct patient care and working as part of a collaborative team
• Reliable transportation to Orwigsburg facility and flexibility to work assigned shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA program and current state CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in ADLs, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance
• Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and staff
• Basic documentation skills and familiarity with electronic or paper charting
• Teamwork, time management, and ability to prioritize resident needs
