Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care: assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
- Monitor and record vital signs, report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and maintain fall-prevention practices
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the care team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient charts
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with nurses and other staff to support efficient, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (required) - California certification preferred
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements (background check, TB screening, immunizations)
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
- Previous CNA or direct patient care experience preferred but new grads with training are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with assisting patients with ADLs and mobility
- Skilled at taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
