Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and report accurate hematology testing to support critical clinical decisions
• Run and maintain clinical chemistry assays and ensure quality control
• Perform coagulation and blood bank testing as a generalist across lab areas
• Operate and troubleshoot core instrumentation including Abbott Alinity and Sysmex systems
• Document results and workflows in EPIC Beaker and follow LIS/EMR procedures
• Adhere to lab safety, QA/QC protocols, and hospital policies to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with the lab supervisor and clinical teams to escalate and resolve issues
• Cover weekends and holidays as scheduled to ensure continuous patient care

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) certification (required)
• MLS certification via ASCP or AMT preferred
• Must function as a generalist covering Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Coagulation, and Blood Bank
• Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience (as listed in job details)
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Must be within a 60-mile radius and able to submit a valid driver’s license

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with EPIC Beaker (LIS/EMR charting)
• Familiarity with Abbott Alinity and Immucor ECHO platforms
• Experience with Sysmex analyzers (XN3100, CA5100, CA2500)
• Strong competency in hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, and blood bank workflows
• Quality control, troubleshooting, and documentation best practices
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care settings
