Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and provide expert ventilator management for high-acuity patients
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to inform clinical decision-making
• Deliver bronchodilator therapy and airway clearance procedures with precision
• Provide tracheostomy care and intubation assist during critical events
• Assess patients promptly and accurately to guide respiratory interventions
• Administer high flow oxygen therapy and operate devices like Vapotherm and Metaneb
• Respond to code blue events as an active member of the resuscitation team
• Safely transport patients and maintain continuity of respiratory care during transfers
• Document care clearly and thoroughly in Meditech to support the care team

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT credential required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• ICU experience preferred (one year preferred per unit notes)
• Experience with Drager and Philips V60 ventilators, Vapotherm, and Metaneb a plus
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced ventilator knowledge and modes of ventilation
• Proficiency in ABG collection and interpretation
• Skill in airway management, trach care, and intubation assist
• Ability to perform high flow O2 therapy and bronchodilator treatments
• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in emergent situations
• Teamwork and clear communication during codes and high-acuity care
• Competent documentation and charting in electronic health record systems
