Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Perform accurate vital sign checks and report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility support
- Document care timely and clearly in the patient chart
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep patients safe
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, patients, and families to support coordinated care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification valid in California
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfortable working independently during per-diem shifts and collaborating with clinical teams
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical fundamentals: vital signs, ADLs, patient mobility and safety
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
