Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for NVICU patients, monitoring and responding to rapidly changing conditions
• Manage advanced airway and ventilator care, including assisting with intubation when needed
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and care for patients with arterial (A-line) and central lines
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Safely care for patients with EVDs in coordination with core staff and specialty teams
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Support family communication and patient advocacy during critical and complex care episodes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (or compact RN licensure where applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (neuro/critical care experience strongly preferred)
• ACLS certification required
• Comfort and competence with intubation, central line and arterial line care
• Experience caring for neuro and oncology patients is a plus
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
• Team-player attitude, accountable, and compassionate bedside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU protocols
• Ventilator management and advanced airway support
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation (A-line, central line)
• Neuro ICU patient needs, including care for EVD patients
• Documentation and workflow in Meditech or similar EMRs
• Ability to function effectively in a 2:1 patient ratio environment
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
