Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate labor and delivery nursing care for high-acuity obstetric patients
• Circulate and assist during C-sections and support OR teams when needed
• Manage IV medication administration including drips such as magnesium with careful monitoring
• Perform thorough Meditech documentation to ensure accurate, timely patient records
• Collaborate with neonatology and Level III NICU teams for seamless mother-baby transitions
• Support patient experience goals by delivering calm, clear communication and expert clinical care
• Float within the women’s and children’s service line as required, contributing teamwork and flexibility
• Participate in unit procedures such as epidurals, spinals, cerclage, and external versions per competency

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the relevant state (or compact RN if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (as stated in the job posting)
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate (or willingness to obtain) preferred
• Experience circulating C-sections and providing high-acuity obstetric care
• Meditech documentation experience preferred
• Scrub/OR circulating experience is a plus

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) and active RN license; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery processes and maternal-fetal physiology
• Competence in circulating for C-sections and assisting in OR workflows
• Proficiency with IV therapy and management of obstetric drips (e.g., magnesium)
• Ability to manage high-acuity maternal care and escalate appropriately
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record documentation
• Comfort working in a fast-paced L&D unit and collaborating across services
