Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy modalities and interventions for acute and emergent patients
• Perform diagnostic respiratory procedures and document results accurately
• Respond to emergency respiratory situations and provide intensive respiratory care as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure patient safety
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and home management when appropriate
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to JCAHO and facility policies

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico required
• Associate degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent (Certificate of Completion in Respiratory Care) required
• Minimum two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a general/acute hospital
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required and must be maintained
• Fingerprinting/background clearance required prior to start
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent (Certificate of Completion in Respiratory Care)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in emergent and intensive respiratory care
• Experience with diagnostic respiratory procedures and acute hospital workflows
• Competence in ventilator management and airway support
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork
• Familiarity with infection control practices and JCAHO accreditation standards
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to serve diverse Native American communities
