Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU during night shifts
- Monitor and assess patients continuously, recognizing and responding to changes quickly
- Administer medications, manage infusions and ventilators safely and according to protocol
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
- Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the medical record
- Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during stressful times
- Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact privilege where applicable)
- Critical care experience in an ICU setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Current immunizations and ability to pass standard background and health screenings
- Comfort working overnight shifts and managing high-acuity patients independently
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of critical care assessment and interventions
- Experience with ventilator management and titration of vasoactive medications
- Skilled in multi-parameter monitoring, arterial lines and central line care
- Proficient with EMR documentation and clear clinical communication
- Excellent teamwork, prioritization and crisis management abilities
