Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist nursing staff with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to preserve dignity and comfort
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status accurately and promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to reduce risk of injury
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team members about patient needs
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build rapport with patients and families, offering reassurance and a friendly presence during overnight hours

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of employment (Certified Nursing Assistant)
• Valid CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable and experienced with overnight/overnight per-diem shifts
• Able to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Reliable and punctual with a professional approach to patient care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and patient care techniques
• Skilled in measuring and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with assisting patients with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Understanding of infection control practices and safety procedures
• Ability to document care clearly in charts or electronic medical records
• Good teamwork, time management, and patient-centered communication skills
