Registered Nurse - PACU
Location: Lakewood, Colorado
Start Date: 07-06-2026
End Date: 10-05-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable start times between 7:30 AM and 11:00 AM, primarily covering 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, with on-call requirements 1 night every 6 weeks including weekends and holidays
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care for surgical patients
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from ortho, trauma, cardiac, urology, pulmonary, and GI procedures
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient transitions from the operating room
- Respond to ICU patients recovering in the PACU with specialized critical care skills
- Read and interpret cardiac strips to maintain patient safety
- Support the unit during floating assignments and assist colleagues with lunch relief coverage
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Colorado or compact license
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience or ED/ICU background
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Ability to work variable shifts and participate in on-call rotation
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for post-anesthesia care
- Experience with vents, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment
- Ability to manage 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios effectively
- Comfortable floating to different units as needed
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
