Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, and other neurological conditions
• Monitor patients during 24-48 hour Trend EEGs and respond quickly to subtle changes in condition
• Perform Foley catheter insertions and central line dressing changes while maintaining strict sterile technique
• Collaborate with charge nurses, resource RNs, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
• Float to Med/Surg/Tele units and sister campuses as needed while maintaining excellent care standards
• Assess cranial nerves and develop strong critical thinking skills specific to neuro patient populations

Qualifications

• Active RN license with minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
• BSN preferred; Med/Surg or Tele certification a plus
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed) and complete SIMs Lab skills validation
• Clean-shaven for men; natural hair color and no facial piercings required for fit testing

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills to detect subtle patient changes
• Competence in sterile field maintenance during catheter and line procedures
• Ability to manage patients on BiPAP with RT support
• Experience with epilepsy monitoring and neurological post-operative care
• Comfort floating between Med/Surg, Telemetry, and sister campuses
