Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients on a specialized MedSurg/Tele unit with behavioral health needs
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry alerts
Collaborate with psychiatrists and the care team to support patients with secondary mental health diagnoses
Administer medications safely and maintain accurate documentation in Cerner
Ensure patient safety through video monitoring and behavioral health protocols
Float to ED psych holds or MedSurg floors as needed to support hospital-wide care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum one year of recent MedSurg/Tele experience in a Level 1 trauma facility with 600+ beds
Cerner EMR experience preferred
Psychiatric experience is a plus but not required
Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to start (two attempts allowed)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Comfort working with patients who have behavioral health needs
Excellent sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, video-monitored unit
Team collaboration with charge nurses, behavior health techs, and security
