Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, self-scheduling with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule and rotating holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care for ED holds waiting for inpatient placement, focusing on medical-surgical and telemetry patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias to ensure patient safety
Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone according to physician orders and parameters
Collaborate with the ED charge nurse and support staff to deliver seamless patient care
Float to med/surg/tele and overflow units across campuses as needed to support the team
Assist with ED tasks including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration when requested

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of strong cardiac telemetry experience preferred
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start and complete a pass/fail SIM lab on day one of orientation
Experience titrating cardiac drips and caring for telemetry patients

Knowledge & Skills

Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Safe titration of cardiac medications
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips independently
Flexibility to float between units and campuses
