Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts with 36-hour guarantee, every other weekend required

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
Provide specialized post-operative open heart care with chest tube and drain management
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Manage temporary pacemakers and non-invasive ventilation equipment
Support pre- and post-procedure care for radial and femoral access patients
Float to units within your skill level to support team needs
Teach and direct non-RN staff including LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries

Qualifications

Active Ohio or Compact RN License required
2+ years of nursing experience with post-operative open heart care
Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Experience with chest tube management and temporary pacemaker care
Skills checklist current within the last year for PCU specialty

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and care planning
Age-specific care delivery
Cardiac and pulmonary abnormality recognition
Non-invasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen systems
Critical care experience highly valued
