Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating days/nights, every 3rd weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-level care to critically ill neonates in a Level 4 NICU setting
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including neonatologists, midlevels, and RTs
Perform complex nursing skills including Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and maintaining sterile field
Monitor and respond to patient status changes using Phillips telemetry
Educate and support families through the NICU journey
Float to mother-baby or labor and delivery as needed for infant care

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
BLS and NRP certifications mandatory
Cardiac STABLE certification preferred
Previous travel experience preferred
Ability to pass SIMs Lab on Day 1 (sterile field competency)
Willingness to commute within 50 miles (no local candidates within radius)

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in caring for premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, and surgical neonates
Proficient in Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry
Understanding of ECMO and cooling protocols
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
