Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to PCU/IMC patients with diverse diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, oncology, ortho, and post-surgical conditions
• Titrate and manage cardiac drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, amiodarone, and heparin
• Administer and monitor insulin and ativan drips per protocol
• Float seamlessly across multiple units within the zone, adapting to different patient populations and team dynamics
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR system

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in Colorado or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/IMC experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Comfortable titrating cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Neuro experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and ability to float within a 60-mile radius zone

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac medication management and drip titration
• Strong floating skills - ability to adapt quickly to new teams and units
• Proficiency in insulin and ativan administration and monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration with charge nurses and multidisciplinary teams
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced stepdown environment
