Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating schedule including every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation. Manager-created schedule with block scheduling available and schedules posted about 6 weeks in advance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop safe, compassionate care plans
• Administer medications and manage infusion pumps, including titration of drips (e.g., insulin, heparin, Levophed)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and document findings promptly
• Manage respiratory equipment and provide respiratory treatments, including use of Hamilton C1 ventilator features when needed
• Document patient care accurately in MEDITECH and ensure compliance with unit policies
• Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Float to the ER as needed to support the department and maintain continuity of care
• Provide reliable, team-focused support in a Critical Access Hospital environment where versatility matters

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in North Dakota (license to submit required)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; PALS required; NIHSS and TNCC required if working in ER situations
• Comfortable and experienced with titrating drips and managing infusion pumps
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred (Med/Surg or ER experience a plus)
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered bedside skills
• Able to float to the ER and adapt to a variety of patient needs in a critical access setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted — BSN not required
• Diploma-prepared RNs with valid license are welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessments and clinical judgment across med-surg diagnoses (CHF, A-fib, bowel obstruction, falls, swingbed care)
• Infusion pump operation and IV drip titration
• Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation (Mindray monitors in use)
• Familiarity with MEDITECH charting and documentation workflows
• Ventilator and respiratory equipment management, high-flow, CPAP/BiPAP knowledge
• Strong documentation habits and ability to work without a dedicated monitor tech
• Team-oriented mindset for a small hospital environment
