Location: Ione, CA
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Sunday-Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day)
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and deliver evidence-based individual and group therapy
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment in a correctional mental health setting
- Develop and implement treatment plans that promote safety, stabilization, and rehabilitation
- Collaborate closely with custody staff and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Document clinical encounters and maintain timely, professional treatment records
- Provide clinical consultation and support to staff, and participate in case reviews
- Promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive care to meet diverse patient needs
- Support program initiatives that improve mental health services and patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist (PSY) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California (required)
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) considered if credentials meet facility requirements
- Experience working with serious mental illness or within correctional/forensic settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, risk management, and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility clearance requirements
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) typically required for licensed psychologist roles
- Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Social Work for LMFT/LPCC/LCSW roles
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in clinical assessment and diagnostic formulation
- Skilled in individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities
- Competence in suicide and violence risk assessment and management
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in secure settings
- Strong clinical documentation and treatment planning skills
- Cultural competence and trauma-informed care practices
- Familiarity with correctional mental health workflows and safety protocols
- Professionalism under pressure and good boundary management
