Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs and observe changes in resident condition
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote mobility
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care delivered
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, and family members about resident needs
- Keep resident rooms and care areas clean, safe, and comfortable
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) — must meet Pennsylvania state requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar setting is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of resident care fundamentals and ADLs
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary care team
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Respectful, professional communication with residents and families
