Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
Support safe mobility and transfers while following established care plans and safety protocols
Document resident care accurately and timely in the chart or EHR
Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control practices
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver person-centered care
Attend briefings and participate in ongoing training to keep skills sharp and current

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (State of Connecticut) — active and in good standing
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working directly with older adults and those with chronic conditions
Strong communication and teamwork skills; dependable and compassionate
Previous long-term care or CNA experience is a plus but new grads with a caring attitude are welcome

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of ADLs (activities of daily living) and basic patient care
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Infection control and safe patient handling principles
Basic charting and documentation skills
Good communication, observation, and interpersonal skills
