Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any concerns to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Help keep patient rooms and common areas tidy and comfortable, contributing to a healing environment

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or state equivalent) — must be active and in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour shifts and able to meet the physical demands of patient care
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting helpful but new grads welcome to apply

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Ability to take and accurately document vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills; willingness to learn facility EHR
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse patients
