Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging educational sessions for physician assistant staff and learners in Bethel.
- Develop curriculum, training materials, and assessment tools tailored to clinical needs and community context.
- Lead hands-on instruction and simulation exercises that build clinical competence and confidence.
- Assess learner performance, provide constructive feedback, and document progress.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and leadership to align education with patient care priorities and compliance standards.
- Mentor and support early-career clinicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Contribute to program evaluation and iterative improvement of instructional content and delivery.
Qualifications
- Active Physician Assistant credential (PA-C) or equivalent clinical credential; state licensure as required
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education, training, or precepting (preferred 1+ years)
- Strong clinical background relevant to primary care or the population served in Bethel
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading small group and one-on-one instruction
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt teaching to diverse learners
Education
- Graduate degree or certification in Physician Assistant studies (preferred) or equivalent clinical education background
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical knowledge appropriate for physician assistant practice
- Curriculum development and instructional design basics
- Learner assessment and feedback techniques
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to community-specific care needs
