Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to adult patients
• Administer and monitor infusion therapies and medications according to protocols
• Perform assessments and interventions related to med-surg and oncology needs
• Document patient care clearly and accurately in the Cerner electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, and the multidisciplinary team to maintain safe patient ratios
• Assist with or coordinate occasional procedures such as pelvic exams, echo support, and thoracentesis
• Support unit policies, practice standards, and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• CNA license listed as primary skill (if applicable for role or float responsibilities)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as stated)
• Chemo certification is preferred and will make you a stronger candidate
• Experience with Cerner EMR and med-surg or oncology units
• Willingness to work night shifts and the required weekend schedule
• Comfort floating occasionally to other med-surg units when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing and med-surg fundamentals
• Cerner electronic medical record proficiency
• Infusion and chemotherapy familiarity
• Patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation skills
• Ability to manage 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios safely
• Strong teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn
