Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize ventilator settings for critically ill patients using Drager, Phillips V60 and other advanced ventilators
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory interventions and care plans
• Provide tracheostomy care and intubation assist during airway management procedures
• Deliver bronchodilator therapy, high-flow oxygen therapy, and airway clearance treatments with clinical precision
• Respond quickly and effectively to code blue events as an integral member of the resuscitation team
• Safely transport patients and ensure continuity of respiratory support during transfers
• Document assessments, interventions and ventilator changes accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered respiratory plans

Qualifications

• Current RRT or CRT credential required (Registered Respiratory Therapist strongly preferred)
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum ~2 years respiratory therapy experience (per facility request)
• One year of ICU experience preferred for high-acuity unit assignments
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar documentation systems
• Demonstrated competency with mechanical ventilators and high-flow oxygen devices

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree or diploma) or equivalent clinical training

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced ventilator management and troubleshooting
• ABG interpretation and respiratory diagnostics
• Airway management: trach care, intubation assist, and emergency response
• Proficiency with devices: Drager ventilators, Phillips V60, Vapotherm, Metaneb
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Accurate clinical documentation and adherence to unit policies
