Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense inpatient medications accurately using Dose Edge and Meditech
• Provide therapeutic dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform medication verification and first-dose checks for emergencies and routine care
• Conduct pain consults and collaborate with clinical teams to support patient comfort and safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians in sterile IV compounding, Pyxis checks, and Pak Edge workflows
• Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with nursing and providers
• Support unit operations across the hospital’s inpatient pharmacy (covers entire 285-bed facility)

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (active MO license required)
• Pharmacist licensure and ability to practice independently
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience (as stated)
• BLS and ACLS preferred
• NICU experience preferred but not required
• Comfort working night shifts and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient Pharmacy workflows and medication verification processes
• Vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing protocols
• Sterile IV compounding practices and supervision of techs
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and documentation skills
• Ability to manage pharmacy operations during night shift
