Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), cyclic scheduling, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to stepdown patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, afib, respiratory distress, and stroke
Manage and titrate critical drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
Interpret telemetry strips and respond to rhythm changes
Collaborate with charge nurse and patient care techs to ensure safe nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
Float to ICU if appropriate and experienced
Adapt quickly to a fast-paced unit with high admission and discharge volume

Qualifications

Active RN license with at least 2 years of stepdown or PCU experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Experience with telemetry interpretation and CPAP management
Ability to titrate drips and manage cardiac medications
Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation (90% required)
Valid driver's license required at submittal for distance verification

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in EPIC charting system
Strong understanding of cardiac drips and titration
Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Commitment to patient-centered care in a high-acuity setting
