Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for ICU patients, including neurology and post-neurosurgery cases
• Manage advanced procedures and devices such as CRRT, bedside EVDs, A-line monitoring and Baxter pumps
• Deliver time-sensitive care for post-thrombectomy and TPA patients with precision and calm
• Accurately document patient care and communicate through Cerner to ensure continuity
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Prioritize patient safety and family communication while working in a 1:2 patient ratio environment
• Float to other ICUs or step-down areas as needed and adapt quickly to unit-specific workflows
• Participate in unit scheduling and cover required weekend shifts to support team needs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse) required
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must-haves)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience caring for neurology post-thrombectomy/TPA patients and post-neurosurgery patients
• Hands-on experience with CRRT, EVD management, A-line monitoring and Baxter pumps
• Comfortable documenting in Cerner and working with unit-driven self-scheduling
• Ability to float to other ICU units and work required weekends

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care principles and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Neurology and neurosurgery post-op and stroke care best practices
• CRRT operation and troubleshooting
• Bedside EVD management and cerebrospinal monitoring
• A-line care and arterial pressure monitoring
• Proficient Cerner documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Strong clinical judgment, triage and prioritization in high-acuity settings
• Team communication, patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
