Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, rotating holidays; schedule released 4-6 weeks in advance with Option A (single facility per week) or Option B (Just-In-Time assignment 1-2 hours before shift)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across multiple facilities within Zone 3 (OrthoColorado, Longmont United, St. Anthony, St. Anthony North)
• Float between hospitals as needed, adapting quickly to different environments and protocols
• Triage, assess, and treat patients with diverse conditions such as abdominal pain, stroke, trauma, and cardiac emergencies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, techs, and charge nurses
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and interpret telemetry strips
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Active and unrestricted RN license in Colorado (compact license accepted)
• Current certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC
• Proficiency in EPIC charting system preferred
• Ability to float within a 60-mile radius from Denver city center and obtain housing accordingly

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing skills including triage, assessment, and critical thinking
• Knowledge of standard ER medications, drips, and equipment (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP)
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in various facilities and with different teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
