Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient nutritional status, needs, and goals
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
• Provide patient and family education on therapeutic diets and lifestyle adjustments
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
• Monitor and adjust meal plans and interventions based on patient response
• Accurately document interventions and outcomes in the EHR
• Participate in quality improvement activities and support registry coverage for vacancies

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
• Active California dietitian license or eligibility to obtain licensure in CA
• Clinical experience in acute or long-term care settings preferred
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Current BLS/CPR preferred

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship preferred
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical nutrition assessment and therapeutic diet planning
• Malnutrition screening and intervention strategies
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Nutrition education techniques for patients and families
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination
• Time management and prioritization in a clinical setting
