Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized nutrition care plans
• Implement medical nutrition therapy and monitor patient progress toward goals
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Provide patient and family education on therapeutic diets, lifestyle changes, and meal planning
• Document nutrition assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to department best practices
• Support food service operations and ensure nutrition standards are met for patient meals

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required; RDN accepted
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited nutrition/dietetics program and supervised practice
• California state licensure or ability to obtain state licensure if required
• Strong clinical nutrition experience in a medical or inpatient setting preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work with diverse patient populations
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required; Master's degree a plus
• Completion of required dietetic supervised practice (internship) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition assessment skills
• Care planning and outcome measurement
• Clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and clear patient education
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food service systems
• Time management and ability to handle a full caseload Monday through Friday
