Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy to incarcerated patients
• Conduct psychological assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to correctional settings
• Collaborate with custody staff and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure safety
• Document clinical encounters accurately and timely in facility health records
• Participate in treatment planning meetings, case reviews, and continuity of care activities
• Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessment when urgent situations arise
• Support rehabilitation goals by teaching coping skills and promoting behavioral change

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist (PSYL) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Current, active state licensure appropriate to the credential (PSYL/LMFT/LCSW)
• Experience providing psychotherapy in forensic, correctional, or acute mental health settings preferred
• Strong clinical documentation and risk assessment skills
• Ability to pass facility security clearance and work within correctional policies

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology for Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD)
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy for LMFT/LCSW

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based psychotherapy techniques
• Skilled in assessment, treatment planning, and outcomes-focused care
• Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams and with custody staff
• Effective crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
• Familiarity with correctional mental health workflows and documentation standards
• Excellent communication, boundary-setting, and cultural competence
