Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy for adults with mental health and substance use concerns
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support recovery and rehabilitation
• Collaborate with custody, medical, and behavioral health teams to coordinate patient care
• Document clinical encounters and treatment progress in the electronic health record accurately and on time
• Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning as needed to maintain a safe therapeutic environment
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities to enhance services

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist (PSY-L) preferred; candidates with LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC licenses are encouraged to apply
• Active or eligible for California licensure in your credentialing discipline
• Experience working in mental health and substance abuse treatment settings, ideally with criminal justice-involved populations
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
• Comfort collaborating in a structured institutional setting and working within established policies and procedures
• Valid TB screening and background clearances as required by the facility (to be completed prior to start)

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred for Psychologist
• Master s degree in counseling, social work, or related field acceptable for LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC roles

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in evidence-based therapies relevant to substance use and co-occurring disorders
• Skilled in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques
• Familiarity with behavioral health documentation and outcome measurement
• Cultural humility and ability to work with diverse populations
• Strong communication, teamwork, and case coordination abilities
• Basic computer literacy and comfort with electronic medical records
