Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered telemetry nursing care on assigned shifts
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to rhythm changes
- Assess patients, document accurate clinical findings, and update care plans
- Administer medications and treatments according to orders and policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families about condition, care, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation and handoffs
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
- Experience or comfort working with cardiac telemetry patients
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or available through employer
- Demonstrated clinical judgment, strong assessment skills, and teamwork
- Ability to work independently during per diem shifts and adapt to varying caseloads
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in acute care settings
- Comfortable with medication administration and documentation standards
- Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with electronic health records and bedside charting
