Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing on night shifts, monitoring and managing critically ill patients with vigilance and compassion
• Perform focused assessments, intervene promptly for changes in patient status, and escalate when needed
• Administer medications and interpret advanced monitoring data safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute comprehensive care plans
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions clearly and timely in compliance with facility policies
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement efforts and contribute to a culture of patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (Nursys verification required)
• Critical care experience (ICU/CCU level) and prior night-shift experience preferred
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Stroke certification/experience and NIHSS competency required
• Required skills/certifications: DCI/BVP as listed by the facility
• Completion of Prime testing and skills checklist prior to start (Basic Pharmacology, Specialty, Core Competencies, Skills Checklist)
• Must pass Prime drug screening (minimum 10-panel) and health clearance requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations/health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, TB testing/clearance, fit test

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) — active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of critical care monitoring and ventilator management principles
• Proficiency with stroke assessment using NIHSS
• Medication administration and pharmacology knowledge (Prime Basic Pharmacology exam proficiency)
• Clinical documentation and acuity-based clinical decision-making
• Ability to function effectively on night shift with strong prioritization and triage skills
• Competency demonstration via Prime Core Competencies and Prime Specialty assessments
