Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily MLS lab operations to ensure smooth, accurate testing
• Oversee clinical laboratory activities across Hematology, Chemistry, Micro, Serology and Blood Bank
• Perform QC review and drive validation procedures to maintain high-quality results
• Prepare and maintain CAP regulatory readiness and documentation
• Recruit, interview, onboard and mentor lab staff to build a high-performing team
• Create and manage schedules and productivity reviews to meet unit goals
• Coordinate with leadership on equipment use and EMR/LIS workflows (EPIC Beaker)
• Collaborate with clinical teams and float within Zone 3 facilities as needed

Qualifications

• MLS certification through ASCP required
• MLT or MT (AMT) certification recognized where applicable
• Minimum of 1 year prior lab manager/supervisor experience (posting also notes 4 years of experience in job details)
• Experience with QC review, validation procedures and CAP readiness
• Familiarity supervising generalist lab areas including Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank and Anatomical Pathology
• Comfort working with EPIC Beaker and common lab instruments listed in unit notes
• Valid driver’s license required for submission (radius requirements apply)
• BLS is not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on familiarity with EPIC Beaker and hospital LIS/EMR workflows
• Experience with Abbott Alinity, Immucor ECHO, Sysmex XN3100, Sysmex CA5100 and CA2500
• Strong quality control, validation and regulatory (CAP) knowledge
• Proven people management skills: interviewing, onboarding, coaching and scheduling
• Productivity review and performance tracking to meet departmental goals
• Generalist laboratory skills across multiple disciplines; clinical lab oversight
