Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 8-hour day shifts (specific start/end times vary), schedule varies with possible float; PRN-style role with 0 hours guaranteed

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor patient progress and document outcomes to support individualized treatment plans
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and ADL training to improve independence
Encourage and motivate patients through their recovery journey with empathy and positivity
Update patient records and communicate observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist
Maintain treatment room and equipment to ensure a safe therapy environment
Teach patients, families, and caregivers techniques to support ongoing treatment at home

Qualifications

Active Missouri Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license (Compact allowed)
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Resume and recent COTA skills checklist (within the last year) required
0-1 supervisory reference from within the last year required
2 years of OT/COTA experience highly preferred; long-term care or rehabilitation experience highly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Patient progress monitoring and documentation best practices
Therapeutic exercise assistance and treatment plan implementation
Activities of daily living (ADL) training and motor skills rehabilitation
Patient/caregiver teaching and communication skills
Equipment maintenance and safe use of therapy tools
Medical history collection and basic patient information gathering
