Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and other routine observations accurately
• Communicate changes in resident condition promptly to nurses and care team members
• Maintain clean, comfortable resident environments and follow infection control practices
• Build rapport with residents and families, providing compassionate companionship and emotional support
• Document care provided clearly and timely in the resident record

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Prior experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner

Education

• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic elder care needs and common geriatric conditions
• Skilled in safe resident transfers and fall prevention techniques
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and routine observations
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a care team
• Basic infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
