Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Perform thorough assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Monitor patient condition and intervene promptly when changes occur
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe transitions home

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact RN licensure as applicable
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged
• Previous medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Must be able to work scheduled night shifts and follow facility orientation
• Pass background check and meet facility health and immunization requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• IV medication administration, wound care, and patient monitoring
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Time management, prioritization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting
