Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Help create a welcoming, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful activities
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification/class (required)
• Comfortable working with older adults and meeting their physical and emotional needs
• Ability to pass background check and any facility-required screenings
• Stable communication skills to interact with residents, families, and the care team
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain if required by facility

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe patient handling, transfers, and fall prevention techniques
• Infection control practices and strict adherence to hygiene protocols
• Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
• Compassionate communication and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
