Surgical Tech - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Location: Sacramento, California

Start Date: 07-07-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varied day shifts (6 AM or 10 AM start), 8-hour shifts, with overnight call once a week and weekend call rotations

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in cardiovascular surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and other open-heart procedures
Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment
Anticipate surgeon's needs and pass instruments and supplies during procedures
Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment and technology
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain accurate documentation and inventory of surgical supplies

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience
Active BLS certification (AHA)
NIHSS certification required
Proficiency in Cerner EMR system
Ability to interpret EKG strips and monitor cardiac rhythms
First-time travelers welcome to apply

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and sterile technique
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Proficient in EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
