Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-15-2026

End Date: 09-14-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments to acute inpatients
Manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day across Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units
Treat patients with general medical/deconditioning, orthopedic post-surgical conditions (TKA, THA, spinal surgery), and CVA
Collaborate with the rehab team and communicate with physicians and nursing staff for optimal patient outcomes
Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

Qualifications

Current California Physical Therapy license required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
At least 1 year of acute inpatient PT experience required
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in acute inpatient rehabilitation including medical/surgical, ICU, and ER settings
Proficiency in orthopedic post-surgical management (TKA, THA, spinal surgery)
Experience with CVA and general medical/deconditioned patients
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients efficiently
Knowledge of hospital systems and documentation standards
