LPN - Long Term Care (Skilled Nursing & Rehab)

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Start Date: 06-29-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating days including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate nursing care to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia on a specialized unit
Deliver skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to short-term patients recovering from surgeries or illnesses
Administer medications, IV therapy, and wound care per physician orders
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement care plans
Document patient progress and communicate effectively with families and healthcare providers
Float to other units as needed to support resident care

Qualifications

Valid LPN license in Maine or compact state (must be currently active)
Minimum of 2 years of LPN experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
BLS/BCLS certification required
Strong teamwork and communication skills, flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment

Education

Associates in Nursing or Graduate of Maine State Board approved LPN course

Knowledge & Skills

Medical terminology proficiency preferred
Ability to work well within a team of care providers
Flexibility to cover 24/7 scheduling and float between units
Compassionate approach to caring for elderly residents with cognitive and physical challenges
