Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill neonates in a Level 4 NICU
• Manage complex patients including premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, and surgical cases
• Collaborate with neonatologists, midlevels, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal outcomes
• Perform skills such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab required)
• Float to mother-baby and labor care (babies only) as needed
• Serve as a charge nurse when assigned, leading the team with confidence

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience (busy Level 3 also considered)
• Previous travel experience preferred
• BLS and NRP certifications required; Cardiac STABLE certification is a plus
• Comfortable with sterile technique and SIMs Lab skills (pass/fail)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every 3rd weekend
• Reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility (driver's license is source of truth)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in NICU nursing care and patient ratios (1:2 ICU, 1:3 Level 2)
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and telemetry monitoring (Phillips)
• Knowledge of ventilator management (RT managed) and ECMO/cooling procedures
• Strong communication and charge nurse leadership skills
• Commitment to maintaining sterile field and infection control
