Location: Bakersfield, CA

End Date: 09-16-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM); weekend rotation every third weekend

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a diverse acute inpatient population including post-surgical, deconditioned, and neurological cases.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team across Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units to optimize patient outcomes.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore mobility, strength, and function.
Document patient progress accurately and adjust care plans as needed.
Supervise and coordinate with rehab aides to ensure efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

Valid California Physical Therapy license required
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
Minimum 1 year of acute inpatient physical therapy experience
Ability to manage a caseload of 12+ patients per day

Knowledge & Skills

Acute inpatient rehabilitation across medical, surgical, ICU, and ER settings
Orthopedic and neurological condition management
Patient assessment, treatment planning, and documentation
Interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
