Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology and women's surgical patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to protocols
• Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and promptly escalate concerns
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including CNAs, HUCs, and physicians to ensure coordinated care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in Cerner EMR
• Support patient and family education around procedures, treatments, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-specific or compact as required) — required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, ideally in oncology or med-surg
• BLS certification — required
• Chemo certification — preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR — preferred
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and scheduled weekends; team-player attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing fundamentals and familiarity with chemotherapy care best practices
• Med-surg experience and ability to manage 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record systems
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with common unit procedures (occasional pelvic exams, echo, thoracentesis)
• Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
